We are the children of the waters of life
At least that is a common phrase that is heard from those who share Dewi’s ‘Spiritual home’ in Bali and Indonesia. The water cosmology ‘Tirta Agama’ or ‘Tirta Suci’ holy waters survive as the backbone of Balinese contemporary society. This is just one Indigenous culture that hands down the arcane threads of the Mu or Mother Lineage. Dewi Danau is known as the Goddess of the Waters, Cauldron or Lake and her sacredness is honoured in temples and wild places throughout the island of Bali. She is of course, related to the Celtic Goddess Devi Danau or Lady Vivienne, Nimue, who survives earlier Welsh Cerridwen of the Bala lake or Tobar cauldron. In fact, we may find records of the primeval mother with the cloak and crown of stars in many past and present cultures. She was once the queen of the angels who presided over Earth and the Deva angelic dominion. But a dark and disasterous fate saw her legacy destroyed and buried by human lust for material power.
